In
existence for over 25 years, the GRAPHIC DESIGN program
at Santa Monica College serves a variety of students - those who
wish to transfer to a four-year college or art school, students who
want to obtain the skills necessary for entry into the job market,
and working professionals who want to update their existing technical
skills in graphic design applications.
The Graphic Design Program is directed by three full-time professors and a large
group of adjunct instructors. Our faculty is diverse with
varied and exceptional professional experiences.
Our instructors are also award winning designers with a passion for teaching
and work closely with the students to provide them with real world perspective
about the graphic design profession.
Students in our program study a wide variety of graphic design classes
for both print and web environments. These courses range from foundation studio
courses that emphasize conceptualization and the design process,
to application-specific courses that teach industry standard software programs.
The program also offers courses that teach applications specific to motion graphics
and web site development.
